How do I process a photo?
Scan your Photos library or import from Photos or Files. Tap a photo, choose compression, conversion or resizing settings, then process it. Use Select to choose a batch. Compare the result before saving a new copy. Keep PhotoLite open while processing.
Which images can I use?
PhotoLite supports still JPEG, HEIC/HEIF and PNG images up to 100 MB and 60 megapixels each. HEIC files containing multiple images export only their primary photo. Live Photos export as still images without motion. Animated images and RAW are not supported; failed items are named and the rest of a batch can finish.
Exports use standard sRGB color and omit source location and camera metadata. HDR, wide-gamut color and additional image data are not preserved. PNG keeps transparency; JPEG and HEIC fill transparent areas with white.
Why is my result larger?
Some photos are already efficiently encoded, and converting to another format may increase the file size. PNG keeps image detail without a quality slider. Try smaller dimensions or a different format, then check the actual size and visual quality. Successful conversions count toward the daily allowance even if the result is larger.
Where are my saved photos?
Tap Save to Photos on the results screen, or use Share or save to Files. PhotoLite retains its own source and export copies for comparisons and history. Go to Settings → Manage storage to remove app-owned copies you no longer need. Copies already saved to Photos or Files are unaffected by app cleanup.
How do I actually free space?
Keeping an original and its processed copy uses additional space. After saving, Review originals to delete lets you select eligible originals whose saved copies can be verified. Compare quality first. PhotoLite asks for confirmation before requesting deletion. Changed or unverified originals, Live Photos, and files containing additional images are kept.
Deleting an original through Photos also syncs through iCloud Photos and moves it to Recently Deleted. PhotoLite does not empty Recently Deleted or promise immediate device-space recovery. Read Apple’s photo deletion guidance.
Can’t access a photo?
Check PhotoLite’s Photos access in iOS Settings. With limited access, add the photos you want to use. A selected iCloud-only original may need to download before processing; check your connection and available device storage.
What is free, and what does Pro include?
Scanning and previews are unlimited. You can process five photos per day for free, including batches within that allowance. Each successful export counts once; failed exports don’t count. Saving and sharing existing results are unlimited. Pro removes the daily processing limit while your annual subscription is active.
How do I restore or cancel Pro?
Use Restore purchases in PhotoLite Settings with the Apple Account used to subscribe. Manage or cancel through iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Deleting PhotoLite does not cancel a subscription. For help, see Apple’s cancellation instructions or Apple’s purchase support.
How do I turn off reminders?
Weekly reminders are optional and off by default. Turn them off in PhotoLite Settings, or manage notifications for PhotoLite in iOS Settings.
